Metrology sector

Pursuant to the legislation on metrology, the sector should conduct verifications and inspections of metrological instruments, and inspections of pre-packed and unpacked goods, in the context of consumer protection, by the foreseen annual plan in cooperation with other inspection structures;
It is responsible to perform a control related to the launching on the market and the use of measuring instruments, in order to prove that they are correctly implemented/applied, in compliance with the law and relevant regulations, accuracy control of marketed quantity and keeping in pre-packings already launched on the market.
It approves and monitors quantity control systems of pre-packing and measuring container bottles manufacturers;
It also addresses complaints against entities exercising such activities, filed directly or forwarded by any other institution or individual, and makes a decision.
