Mission and Scope of Activity

The SIMS mission is to: i) guarantee products safety for consumers, ii) observe the intellectual property rights . This mission is accomplished through surveillance activity in compliance with relevant legislation in force.

The SIMS is responsible to inspect mandatory legal requirements implementation in the field of:

a)  consumer protection, in line with the stipulation of law on consumer protection;

b)  industrial property protection, in line with the stipulation of legislation on industrial property;

c)  guaranteeing copyright and other related rights protection and observance, in line with the stipulation of relevant legislation;

d) metrology inspection, in line with the stipulation of legislation on metrology;

e) labeling for the consumption of energy and other sources of products having an impact on energy, in line with the stipulation of legislation on information related to the consumption of energy and other sources of products having an impact on energy;

f) control of detergents launched on the market in line with the provisions of law on detergent;

The SIMS exercises its activity in line with the legislation on inspection in the Republic of Albania and special applicable legislation in each of the inspection fields, as well as any other responsibility set forth by a law or sub-legal act.
